何が起こったか
ブログの記事を書いていたのですが、記事を更新しようとした時に、「更新に失敗しました。返答が正しいJSON レスポンスではありません」と表示されてしまい、更新できませんでした。

上のような表示が出てきて、記事が更新できなくなってしまいました。
困ったので調べてみたところ、「JSON レスポンスではありません 」エラーの原因は多数あるので、一概には言えないようです。
.htaccessの中身が空になっているのが原因であることが多いようですが、私はプログラムの知識を全くと言っていいほど持っていないので、実際に対処するために行ったことを紹介します。
※必ずしもこの方法で治るとは限りません。
実際の対処
私が行ったことは簡単で、ワードプレスのパーマリンク設定を変えました。
まず、ワードプレスの管理画面の設定⇒パーマリンク設定をクリックします。
そして、パーマリンク設定が「基本」になっていたので、「数字ベース」に変えました。
インターネットで調べた限りだと、基本以外なら恐らく問題ないと思います。
これで治らなかった場合は、申し訳ありませんが、他のサイトをご覧ください。
パーマリンクに関する豆知識
パーマリンクはURLの最後の部分になるので、「投稿名」に設定していると、日本語のパーマリンクになることが多いでしょう。
しかし、Googleのシステムは基本的に英語（アルファベット）で考えているので、日本語のURLがあると、文字化けしたようなかなり長いURLになってしまう可能性があるので、あまりオススメできません。
例えば、「これはテスト投稿です。よろしくお願いします。」というタイトルをそのままパーマリンクにしたとすると、URLは以下のようになります。
「https://www.outiman.net/%e3%81%93%e3%82%8c%e3%81%af%e3%83%86%e3%82%b9%e3%83%88%e6%8a%95%e7%a8%bf%e3%81%a7%e3%81%99%e3%80%82%e3%82%88%e3%82%8d%e3%81%97%e3%81%8f%e3%81%8a%e9%a1%98%e3%81%84%e3%81%97%e3%81%be%e3%81%99%e3%80%82/」
※上の投稿は既に削除したため、URLで検索しても「404 NOT FOUND」のページにとびます。
上記を見ると、かなり長いのが分かると思います。
Wikipediaぐらいドメインが強かったら、大した問題ではないのかもしれませんが、個人ブログのそこまで強くないドメインにおいて、SEOでマイナスの可能性のあることは排除した方が良いと個人的には思います。
もちろん、完全に趣味で書いているだけで、ブログのアクセス数を気にしないという方は、パーマリンクを好きに設定してもらって結構です。
